OXON Medical LifeSystems – has an innovative research and development team that has devised life-saving solutions for the mining industry and the military. The company has a line of non-pressurized, non-explosive and non-flammable breathing systems, that can be used in mine accidents as well as in military applications. One line has been specifically developed for naval safety and rescue. Future products include an FDA-approved unit for over-the-counter consumer use. Logical Approach has been engaged to help OXON raise early-stage funding.

Advance Space Monitor (ASM) – holds patent rights from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for a spore detection system which is significantly faster and more sensitive to the current testing methodologies. This system has vast commercial potential in both security and medical areas. Logical Approach has arranged for “angel” funding for ASM and is coordinating manufacturing facilities, developing marketing plans and helping in staffing. Plans are to develop franchising arrangements for the use of the systems to test in clean-up and other applicable operations.

CWT-Networks – builds a family of unique network products that merge cutting edge cellular technology, firewall security and WiFi LAN capabilities. Its flagship product, CWT-Air securely connects users to the Internet using the high speed packet network (HSPA) backbone of the cellular telephone system. It allows for value added services such as voice transmission by acting as a local cellular “tower” as well as providing WiFi access to dozens of users simultaneously. It also functions as a cellular repeater, allow extension of the network into other geographies. Logical Approach has been engaged to help raise funding and to build CWT-Network’s business infrastructure. Recently, presentations were made to our international contacts, and demonstration systems are being deployed.

Emerald Power – is an engineering consulting practice which specializes in the installation of power generation systems that use municipal waste as feedstock. Emerald holds the license to install a proprietary reactor vessel (Anaerobic Thermal Conversion "ATC") that performs non-polluting, high temperature, high efficiency combustion of various waste materials, such as dried residue from sewage treatment and municipal garbage. Emerald’s team leads design of recovery facilities and frequently acts the general contractor to install the systems. It also assists in the financial analysis required to justify such large projects. Logical Approach performed an independent analysis of the technologies using its contacts in the engineering and commercial construction fields. Functioning facilities are currently in operation in the UK. Currently, efforts are underway to assist Emerald Power to raise funds to finance documentation and patenting of Emerald’s methodologies and to expand the breadth of its business penetration.

Magnetic Products and Services (MPS) – is a well established, family-owned, engineering firm which specializes in the area of managing magnetic fields. The presence of such fields can pose serious issues for pipeline construction and in the efficient operation of large motors and generators. MPS has developed products that “degausses” (de-magnetizes) large equipment and materials, and sells units with a significant profitability. Historically, the bulk of its revenue was based on providing expert consulting services. MPS has also developed test equipment to measure magnetic fields (“gaussmeters”) and equipment to measure fields produced by rotors and other rotating components. These measurements can provide early detection of “wobble,” indicating inefficiency and potential failure. The applications for these meters include wind turbines, submarine engines, etc. Logical Approach and its sister company’s have provided MPS with marketing support for several years, and has been working to identify business partners to help it scale is manufacturing operations to handle these new markets for its products.

A Sample Success Story
Mobile Medical Group – was a provider of medical diagnostic services, such as x-rays and electrocardiograms, to nursing homes and home-bound patients. Mobile Medical operated vans carrying portable test equipment from sites throughout the mid-West. Using proprietary communications methods, test data was transmitted to radiologists for interpretation of the results. The results were transcribed electronically and presented to the ordering physicians. Logical Approach was originally engaged by a venture capital group to perform a due diligence analysis of Mobile Medical. Several internal issues were identified and the venture group decided not to proceed with its investment. Mobile Medical then contacted Logical Approach for assistance in remediating the issues identified. With the permission of the venture group, Logical Approach provided guidance on improvements to Mobile Medicals internal information processing systems, its accounting and billing systems, as well as the management structure of its subsidiaries. With these modifications implemented, Logical Approach helped prepare Mobile Medical for acquisition and successfully found a suitable strategic buyer in Florida. Logical Approach’s efforts were credited with significantly raising the valuation of Mobile Medical Group.
